CITY IN THE SKY

The project started in London with few companies and artists invited to create artistic impressions of the future mega developed cities. The aim was to gather visual materials for an exhibition called "Megatropolis". The idea about "City in the Sky" emerged as a reaction to the concrete forest in downtown Manhattan and grew into this short film. It is a concept about an imaginary tranquil oasis above the mega developed and polluted city where one can escape from the everyday noise and stress. The concept is inspired by the Lotus flower which is known for its ability to emerge above the murky waters pure and clean.

Although realistically presented, "City in the sky" doesn't intend to be realistic in terms of structure-engineering or real living environment. It depicts the familiar metropolitan areas of big cities that are with concentrated population of 10 million and above, where building density has reached its limits and people have no room to move any further. "City in the Sky" tries to remind about the romantic connection of man with heaven, tranquility and nature, even in the heart of such vast metropolises like New York City.
